What Agent Identity Actually Costs: There Is No Price, and the Free Tier Promises Two Agents It Will Not Give You

There is no price, and we are not going to invent one

Our own pricing page publishes a free tier at zero and a paid tier whose price reads "coming soon", with billing described as not yet available and the tier's details as still being finalised.

That copy is honest and this page does not improve on it. A number here would be a number nobody has paid.

The free tier advertises five agents and gives you three

The public tier copy says up to five agents.

Production is configured for three, and the service refuses the fourth with a payment-required error naming the limit.

CONTROL, so this is not a deployment artefact: the configured value and the code's own default are the same number, so the running limit is three by either path, and the deployed bundle was checked to be reading the configured value rather than a literal.

So a developer who reads the pricing page, plans five agents and builds four is refused, and the error will be correct while the page will not.

And the names do not line up either

Internally there are three plan names. Publicly there are two tiers. Neither set matches the other.

That is harmless today and it is the kind of thing that becomes a support conversation the moment billing exists, because the name in an error message will not be the name on the page somebody bought from.

What the real costs are, as far as anybody can measure them

Anchoring a passport consumes measurable gas. This estate publishes that figure in units, with its sample size, and refuses to convert it to money, because units are a property of the contract call and a price is a property of a market.

Everything else is our infrastructure cost rather than your price, and telling you our costs would not tell you what we will charge.

Elsewhere in this company there are figures denominated in a token with no market, converted to currency at an assumed rate. Those are not prices either, and none of them appears here.

What the product does right about this

The paid tier says billing is not available rather than showing a plausible number. That is the harder choice and the correct one.

And the commercial surface is deliberately kept out of the public interface specification, with a test that fails if a route carrying plan or metering detail appears in it. The test exists because that leak already happened once, and its comment records it rather than hiding it.

What a buyer should actually take from this

Build against the free tier and expect three agents, not five.

Do not plan a budget around any number we have published, because we have not published one that is a price.
